Your Cheatin' Heart
When talking to a modern generation, I have to make sure I research certain words in the dictionary. I recommend any student of the great works to have a dictionary- preferably from 1950 back. As the more modern dictionaries try to be politically correct, and remove any religious connotations concerning the original word. I must remember that the Bible is the written word of God. The Word created the universe. The Word was by God side sharing considerable wisdom and insight. A Words original meaning should always be able to be found in a dictionary. Sadly, in this day and age dictionaries stray away from the truth.
I use the Winston dictionary copyrighted 1945. It gives the exact meaning of a WORD, and it is the “college edition”. Without the proper knowledge, you will never understand how to handle life, evil, or the truth. The word I wanted to lookup was Concubine: the definition is “a woman who cohabits with a man without being his wife.” I dare do say! That would be most of us at one time or another. The word concubine does not hold any negatives with it. But concerning being unfaithful to your lover. There is so much written about that. The Bible is strewn with messages of how people rebel, are selfish, and adulterous. How they’re unfaithful to the partner they profess love to.
And the person who commit adultery with a married person would do better to find a prostitute Proverbs 6:26 this is only for the single person. The Bible member is never allowed freedom to be unfaithful to their partner. Even though Kings had many wives and concubines, they were “Kings.” No man can claim that in the USA when he cheats on his wife. Cheating on love is cheating on God, and you have not only disgraced the partner, you have disgraced the creator. Some people say I do not understand? Do you not understand what the Lord hates? If you must find the answer, go to Proverb 6: 16 to19. It is written so simple a child could understand it.
I do not believe you have to be highly educated to get into heaven. I do not believe anybody on this planet has the right to judge you before God. I do believe anybody willing to practice kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, and equality in a relationship will find Gods blessing on their doorstep. Their house will be filled with joy, their house of the filled with love, and their faithfulness will bring closeness of a mother and father in a child’s embrace. I would never run away from the one I love, I would never cheat and dishonor my word; therefore, if I stay close to God I probably never will.
