Think of the Consequences

It is best not to speak when you are upset, or write letters for that matter. You might think you know what you are saying, but you do not. Life is not an easy journey, and even our closet friends can be hurt once too often. If you must speak in anger, only speak to yourself; do not share it with others. The pain will pass, the frustration will pass, but unthinking words spoken can not be taken back. You might justify what you say with the most stupid reasoning, but you will come to regret it all once you have come back to your senses.

It is hard to control your tongue, but it is not impossible. You just have to stop fighting the world and start helping. It is easy to complain about this or that, but doing something about it is another step. We want fulfillment and sometimes we expect others to solve all our troubles and all our wild emotions. Did you ever think that they might have troubles and emotions that are hurting them? Well, you should. You are not the only one who struggles with living and keeping a grip. You are not the only one who has mental problems, and you can not find happiness by pushing away your friends.

They need you as much as you need them. Work harder to help them and their needs before you go demanding that they fulfill your needs. As a matter of fact, do not demand anything from those you care about. They are probably doing the best they can to get through life without your complaints and pessimism… So often we do not realize what we are saying or even why we are saying it. Usually it is some selfish motive that has nothing to do with love. For love can not be demanded, love can not be manipulated, and love is not filled with agitation!

It is your heart you must work on. If you are having a difficult time with an aspect of your life, share that concern. Do not ignore what is troubling you, but share it with someone who is a neutral party. They can listen with an honest heart and help you see all sides of the situation. You have much to offer the world if you will but stop questioning everything and start accepting that some things are just the way they are` and that is all there is to it. Yet, if you continue down the road of hostile and confrontational emotions, you will be the one who will be sorry.
