2002 New medication
“Lamictal” caused me severe stomach problems. My doctor has continued to try
antiseizure medications. I do not
believe this is wherein my disorder originates.
Considering I crushed my central nervous system, I think that pain is my
only symptom. Along with the hot
hands and hot body when I do too much movement especially with the arms.
If I lie on my back with a massage device, I can feel the pain
specifically from the top of my head to the bottom spinal cord on the interior.
Everything comes from this area to keep my body moving.
Because of the severe pain that I already am in, my stomach is always
feeling yucky. I do not have an
appetite, and when I do eat it is not enjoyable.
Ultram has been the best by far at controlling the constant nagging pain. Medicinal marijuana is something I refused to
address because I believed the political leaders of our country always had the
public’s interest in mind. I was
also concerned because I’m a recovering alcoholic.
After smoking it for a year, I only take a minimal one dosage or one to
three hits
in the evening. Much to my
amazement and relief, the effects of being under marijuana were very pleasant.
My pain level was decreased, my ability to do things increased, and most
importantly I was able to eat and enjoy what I ate!
These three benefits considering my neurological disorder cannot be
refuted or ignored. I find it unethical that pharmaceutical companies that
cannot make a profit off medical marijuana, influence the government that
marijuana has no good purpose at all. I have taken over 17 different medications
to treat my problem, only one has helped. All
the others cause multiple problems, skin problems, seeing problems, thinking
problems, staying awake problems, sensitivity to sunlight, and other internal
dangers such as kidney disease, liver disease, or as in the last case a deadly
rash, or internal organs failure. I
even took one medication that has a side effect known only as “sudden
death.” Compared to medical marijuana, which one should a
highly intellectual and highly cognitive person take?
The answer is no longer a question for me. I will not let bias by our “religious drug war fever”
convince me that a drug that was legalized in this country until 1937 and has
been on the planet since the beginning of time can possibly be detrimental to my
health. It’s sad that my doctor
cannot prescribe this for treatment. He
has twenty years experience, and he has my honest opinions concerning my rare
neurological disorder. To think I could be put in jail because I’m treating
severe chronic pain is just horrible in this day and age in America.
Once again though, local marijuana has many more uses then just treating
chronic pain. If pharmaceuticals
cannot capitalize on marijuana legally, then no one can. Think what you may, I have lived for three years
now with severe disturbing physical internal and external pain because of my
crushed nervous system. Are you
telling me that I cannot use marijuana even if it’s beneficial medicinally?
I can only hope someday you have a severe injury and when you decide to
finally break down and smokes the marijuana for the pain it will be legalized by
then because of the efforts of people like me~ and hopefully you voting, putting
it on the ballot, and telling the government to “get out of our private and
personal needs.” The official title of my disease is - neuropathic
degenerative chronic pain. Medical Rights Activist P O Box 2343 Lompoc CA 93438 Rockhawk.com |
