My
doctor visit For the Defense You would think the lawyer that I hired would be able to defend me and have my rights acknowledged. I truly believe this man is doing the best he can, considering the system. Yet the most discouraging thing to me as of late is the doctor hired by my lawyer to evaluate me and help me get a justified settlement. In no way had I ever thought my defense doctor would lie. Yet, he did. What was only a 20-minute interview with him giving me a statement on what I would be allowed to settle, He totally disregarded the evidence concerning my other injuries. Does it smell like the big payoff by the insurance company? Yes it does. He says he spent an hour and a half evaluating me, he claims that my arms are affected, but not to the point of disability that I’m having to live with. He has totally destroyed my claim concerning my lower back and says that it was not caused by the work environment. A work environment that consisted of repetitive movements and heavy lifting continuously throughout the day. I worked up to 55 to 60 hours a week. Monday through Saturday I lifted and rearranged metals. Metals in bulk… he did agree that my type of work caused the injuries in my arms and upper extremities, but he was unwilling to evaluate me as a defense Doctor even though I handed him a written paper on my complaints and troubles. I thought doctors took the Hippocratic oath to do no harm? Was all his years of training bought so easily by a bribe? It is now 22 months since my initial injury. I live in a world of madness with pain that chronically infiltrates my being, and a legal system that punishes me for ever getting hurt at the workplace in the first place. I do not know how people manage to maintain any hope in getting the treatment they need. The insurance companies have billions to spend on lawyers, doctors, and I fear maybe even judges. We pore so much money into workers compensation insurance, yet when our employees have a legitimate disability, they are treated like criminals. The decency that should be given to someone who has been injured is comparable to a person trapped in an abusive relationship. So, here we are with the insurance company, taking extreme pleasure, in beating me down. Thomas A. SUTOR P.O. Box 2343 Lompoc CA 93438 Rockhawk.com
