Many Years later
They started out young and in passion! It was only a glance, it was only a conversation, and it was only a lunch outing. Who was to know that from that day forth, both their lives would change so drastically? It all seemed so innocent, and in reality it was… However, she was committed’ and he was not. She paid a high price for this rondavue and affair, and he paid in ways she will never know. It was passionate, it was dangerous, and it was not to last... It would be unthinkable` after all their desperate misunderstandings of eachother, that they would one day~ see the other for who each really was… They still live apart, but they have found ways to enjoy romance and loving feelings. Not only is there a wonderful sexual learning going on, there is time apart that is not wrong. They have their lives to live, and they have many ways to show affection for the other. It was so much more difficult in the younger years when obsession and uncontrolled desires made a young mind cry for understanding! Today, age has tamed the physical lust and fantasy into a more realistic appreciation` for the other. It is good to feel warmth, it is good to feel closeness, and it is good to express Love in actions, and not only words. The future is left open to interpretation, but he is a romantic and she is a realist. One day they will combine the knowledge they share and embrace eachother in a friendship of living together. A house filled with concern and trust, this is what they have yearned for in life. It is good to wait for something so valuable! To be comfortable with the one you live with is one of life’s greatest gifts. Today, they still live apart and do what they do with` the worlds they live in. It is hoped one day they might unite their worlds in such a way that household activities will be shared gladly. Considering they have much in common when it comes to animals, cleanliness, and lovemaking, they will enjoy sleeping together with much appreciation. She sees him and shows him affection, he holds his courage and shows her respect. In their 60’s life still has sexual pleasure, but it is the enjoyment of good conversation and security of not being alone- that makes their home a sanctuary` in this difficult and harsh world. They do their own thing, and they do things together. This is the Romantic journey that has taken years to develop. Had it been forced, demanded, or ended in angry words, they would have lost out on being able to love` into old age. There is a fear of death of the other, but there is a hope of all the times’ they have watched eachother grow. They sip their tea in the early morning hours giggling at their good fortune!
