Lost and Found We can never really say too much about good behavior and how it helps society! I was out shopping the other day. As usual, I was in a hurry to get home and found myself rushing through the store with my itemized list` in my head. Zoom to the produce section and grab some apples, zoom to the dairy section and grab some milk, and zoom to the ice cream section for a bounty of world class Popsicles! Oh yes, tonight is going to be relaxing and fun. Out to the car ands into the home… Hours later I realized that I had left something very important at the grocery, in the grocery cart, and I left that in the middle of a parking lot with lots of people at night! I was stressing stressfully! What if my prized item was gone forever? What would I do, and how would I handle the loss?? Those fears that fill your mind when you know you did something stupid, and the opportunity has been lost forever… My heart sank and sat behind the rump of my ass. What a fool! How could you just leave it laying about and not take it with you! Oh my heart was heavy. In desperation, I drove to the grocery lot at 9:33 pm. I drived my car’ ever so slowly, looking into all the shopping carts out and about. Nothing. This was looking dismal~ I was in my nightclothes, as I did not care how I looked. That information was very important to me, and I did not want some low life taking it. I went to the cashier with determination in my mind. I asked where is the lost and found? He pointed to an area up front. I went there, and no one was there. I turned to find two other employees and asked them the same question. One came over to look and help. He seemed to see nothing, and yet held up my item saying is this it? Oh the joy and rush of relief! My information was safe and sanctified! My mind quickly returned to its natural state of mindless relaxation… However, it reminded me of my youth and how I placed high value on watching out for others. As I’ve gotten older, I sometimes get quite pessimistic. Shame on me, and shame on you! I told my self: “We are going to spend more time thinking of others” and doing good. Not a religious observance, a human observance. This life we live has many kind and caring people, let us not forget that. We too, should spend our time encouraging others, and reward those who do what is just and fair.
