I am Only Myself
If I choose to do good, it is my choice. If I choose to love, it is my choice. And if I choose to be an individual, I’ll not let anyone decide my future. I can think of times when I was a child and at the mercy of my parents. They filled my mind with their religious ideology, they filled my mind with their fears and hopes, luckily, they allowed me to decide my future. If I wish to go to school and learn, that was my opportunity to enhance my soul. If I chose to go to work and make money, then I would benefit from every penny earned. And, if I chose to do nothing, God knows I’m a disappointment to society and myself. I have chosen not to blame others for my emotional well-being. I have learned to take responsibility in all conversations. I understand what my part is in any argument. Hopefully, I have learned to fight fair and not do things that are inconsiderate. I find much enjoyment in writing. It is a way for me to express my many different opinions. I Do not believe that anyone can possibly have only one opinion. Furthermore, even those who subscribe to religious ideology find their opinions do not always fall on right or wrong. Therefore, if I am so certain of what I say. I should always be able to back it up with physical evidence. I do not speak to another’s mind in such a way that I cannot back up my statements. There is just too much knowledge and great books that have important information~ too be disregarded. I read and I study and I learned the best way to live from other people’s experience. In doing so, I will sometimes be deceived by writers who do not know the truth. The truth can always be found out if we have an open mind. The study of knowledge is open to all' who wish to learn. Sadly, so many in society do not even attempt to get the basic education. They become hostile towards those who are intelligent because of the fine things they own. Justifiably they think’ to steal from their neighbor, so they can have the same. Then when their neighbor finds out and retaliates, they blamed the neighbor for living next door instead of taking responsibility for being a thief. The greatest disappointment I have seen in humanity is by people who discourage others from Hope. There are many people who are sad, frustrated, and unable to freely go wherever they want. Not that anyone’s stopping them from living their lives; they just want to have a reason to complain! These people see the world as harsh and depressing and rarely find enjoyment even in the simple things. Their mind is focused on what they have not, instead of focusing on their ability to share; they can only focus on their own selfish desires. Unwilling to be helpful to others, makes you a very despised person by all~ anticipating’ a free ride? True happiness consists of charity and unselfishness. So many people do not understand this reality, and they are troublesome to those of us who help others for nothing. They laughed at our kindness, they despise our ability to help others, and they complain that nobody cares about them. Why should someone care about anyone who cares about nothing but himself or herself? I think people who are so self-centered and selfish- deserve our pity. Because they feel so unable to do things that are helpful and kind. I can only imagine that if I were not focused on helping others, I would only focus on me. I do not find much enjoyment in doing things alone and that’s what happens to those who refuse to participate in works that help their culture. People who give nothing back to life deserve no happiness, no peace of mind, and no restful sleep. Those who take time out of their day to think about others and do what they can to help deserve happiness, peace of mind, and enjoyable rest… Amen.
