GOD, SATAN…OR ME?

When, (for the most part) my life is ‘on-track’, and I’m doing fairly well, is that God’s doing because He loves me…or, is Satan’s influence merely lulling me into a false sense of security in order for him to ‘catch-me-off-guard’, and in that way, trick me into sinning?  Or, is it my God-given,” free will”, that has drawn me into this state of well being?  I wonder.

I believe that Satan only persecutes the Christian who is trying to live a godly life…if we are lost in sin; we are where he wants us to be already, so why bother with us?  On the other hand, if I make the choice to do wrong, isn’t the fault mine?  Obviously, when God created the Angels, at least some of them were flawed.  The prime example being ‘Lucifer”, (who would become Satan) and all the Angels who followed Satan when he was banished from heaven.  Satan ‘rebelled’ against God and was cast out of heaven.  Adam and Eve, ‘dis-obeyed’ God, and mankind was cursed as a result. Therefore, when I sin, is it my sinful nature at work, or is it Satan’s influence, (or both) which is in control?  Does God punish us at the time we sin, or just put a black-mark next to our name in the ‘Book-of-Life’, to be dealt with when we come before Him on Judgment Day?

Jesus carried our sins with Him to the cross, where He suffered and died, as the ultimate sin offering. Did He die for all mankind, or just for those who believe in Him?  Are non-believers under the same condemnation for their sins as believers?  What happens to’ Evolutionists’, atheists, agnostics, and all the other non-Christians?  The Orthodox Jew doesn’t believe Jesus is the ‘Messiah’, yet they claim to be ‘God’s Chosen People’!  What’s with that?  All they seem to have done since they came into being is defy and disobey God at every turn.

My question is; are my actions, (good or bad) attributable to God…Satan…or simply my ‘human-nature’?

We Christians are given two choices:

1.      To believe in God and have eternal life.

2.      To not believe in God and burn in hell.

I, personally, choose number 1 because number 2 seems less-than-desirable!  I have often thought that perhaps there should have been a 3rd choice, in order to make it more ‘Democratic’.  Perhaps making ‘Purgatory’ an option.  Just a thought.

To sum up; who is in control of my destiny…God, Satan, or Me?

I like to believe that it is God, but with a ‘smattering’ of the other two mixed in now-and-then.  God is real…Satan is real….I am real.
