Sexual Practices Leviticus 18
After
reading this little segment, it is my opinion that people do not realize the
grave nature of the judgment imposed by the law.
There are those who are quick to judge and say homosexuals are the worst
thing. They even boast about the
practices being condemned in the Bible. Apparently
in Leviticus 18: 22 they have found their justification. Maybe so, however I think that is more important to realize
that what was said before “has more priority”.
As with anything, you will always list the most important items first.
There are 14 sexual items listed before we ever get to the mention of the
homosexuals behavior.
In
Leviticus 18:6 it says do not have sexual intercourse with “any” of your
relatives. I believe the word any includes “all family members”.
That means first cousins, second cousins, third cousins, and any other
relative known- No matter how far down the chain you go, it is considered more
offensive to God than homosexuality. Having
sexual relations with anyone in your family is incest.
If you read the entire chapter, you will realize that “adultery is
considered worse” than two men having sexual relations.
As I said: read the chapter.
It
seems to me that since there were so many laws written down about sexual
indecency and controlling sexual behavior, people must generally do these
things. Most keep these family
secrets to themselves yet openly condemn homosexuality.
If God were to look into the heart of every person, I wonder how many of
us have done something that is mentioned in Leviticus 18?
How many people have married first cousins?
Second cousins? Or any other
relatives 'regardless of bloodline? All
these items come before any mention of what God hates. It must be that men generally do not know how to control
their sexual desires for their mothers, fathers wives, sister or stepsister,
aunts, uncle’s wife, daughter-in-law, brother’s wife, having sex with a
woman’s daughter or granddaughter, wives sisters, sex during woman’s period,
another man’s wife, child molestation. Then
we have homosexuality, and bestiality.
From
this long list, it is most apparent that there are many sexual dysfunctions in
society. There is no reason to
believe that any of these other sexual dysfunctions are not still being
practiced in our day and age, just turn on Jerry Springer who like to degrade
America by revealing our darkest and most shameful secrets.
He actually encourages the most foolish and cognitive slow people to
speak prideful truths of their shameful sins.
Once again, thank God for Jesus Christ who can forgive “all sins” and
lead us into a healthy sexual lifestyle. The
next time you want to judge somebody on their sexual behavior, please remember
your own dark secrets.
