By what right I Write? I believe there comes a time in every person’s life where they must once and for all reveal the truth of who they are. I cannot give any facts as to the truth of what I am about to say. I can only tell you what my mother told me when I was only five years old. She said that she had nearly died while giving birth to me. That in the process of my birth, she saw- "God touch my soul with the sword". I remember the day; it was a sunny springtime afternoon in Georgia. I remember going straight to my room and praying to God that I would do the right thing. I have no idea why at five years old, I would even consider praying. Through the years, I have struggled with the knowledge of what my mother laid on me, at such an early age. My mother died from drinking. I often wondered how an alcoholic mother could possibly have had a blessed child? Today, I no longer question God when it comes to whom he chooses. What I do question is; am I going to use “my ability” for good or for evil? For me the sword means the word. And since I seem to have an uncanny knack for putting these sentences into powerful metaphors, I am grateful that I am a Christian under the guidance of salvation. In the Scripture, Paul spent time preaching for three years. Once again my lucky number! Before going to see the apostles. And when he did, he only stayed with Peter for “two weeks.” I find this most amazing. Considering, his vast knowledge on salvation, God’s grace, and how mercy can only be attained by showing mercy. I always like to remind readers that these writings of mine are “opinionated” whether or not they are inspired from God, they are still mainly my interpretations. Keeping that in mind, that is why I stress that “you the individual” read the Good News Bible “for yourself” to check behind me and make sure that I’m sticking with the truth. In a day and age when blind following of any religious figure is self-evident, we all need to read the Bible. I think it also very important to understand the Koran, Buddhism, Hinduism, and people who live moral lives. If someone does what Jesus Christ requires, yet he never professes that belief. It is up to God to decide the fate of that person, NOT- You or I. As Christians, we might show that GODS Love surpasses human wisdom. Furthermore, if we judge others in this life and condemned them now, will not God condemn us in the next? Thomas A. SUTOR P.O. Box 2343 Lompoc CA 93438 |
